‘Hudson-Odoi must defy agent and make Nottingham Forest exit decision’

Nottingham Forest will play European football next season but uncertainty looms over the future of star winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The 24-year-old is only under contract at the City Ground until June 2026 – meaning Forest must make a decision or risk losing him on a free transfer.

Hudson-Odoi joined from Chelsea for around £5million in 2023 and has blossomed into a key man for Nuno Espirito Santo.

According to Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth (13 May), Man United are tracking the winger with talks over a new Forest deal “ongoing”.

But Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has urged Hudson-Odoi to ignore agent noise and pledge his future to Nottingham Forest.

‘Marinakis will block Hudson-Odoi exit’, says Wyness

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted the England international is crucial to Espirito Santo’s counter-attacking style.

He has made 35 appearances across all competitions this term, scoring five goals and notching three assists.

Wyness insisted he would be surprised if Hudson-Odoi moves on this summer.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think Forest will want to keep him.

“They’ll do all they can to keep the squad together, and Hudson-Odoi has been one of the standout performers.

“Marinakis will want to keep this side together, it’s important to have stability in any squad.

“The style and tactics they play, with breaking fast on the counter-attack, Hudson-Odoi has been crucial in this structure.

“I’d be surprised if he goes anywhere.

“His agent is going to be linking him with a lot of clubs right now, but I think he should put all that to the side and stay at Nottingham Forest.”
