Huge blow: Star attacker to miss upcoming Tottenham clash, he is out for a month – report

By Richard Parks
Wilfried Zaha is set to miss at least four weeks in a shattering blow for Crystal Palace as he misses a series of key Premier League fixtures, according to a report.
The Guardian claim that Palace fear the in-form wide forward will be sidelined for a significant period of time as they wait on the results of a scan on the knee injury he sustained in their 1-1 draw with Newcastle United at Selhurst Park on Sunday.
It is said that Zaha’s absence for a month means he would mean the trip to Everton on Sunday as well as consecutive fixtures against big guns Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea.
The absence of the Ivory Coast international, 25, is a bitter blow to Palace’s hopes of Premier League survival as they are just three points above the drop zone.
Zaha has scored four goals and supplied two assists from 20 league matches this season after being the subject of sustained interest from Tottenham – manager Mauricio Pochettino is said to be a huge fan – in previous transfer windows.
His statistics have not matched his brilliant 2016-17 season in which scored seven goals and provided 11 assists from 35 league encounters, but he is widely regarded as Palace’s dangerman and outstanding player.
Tottenham will be glad they won’t have to combat him when the two London clubs go head to head at Selhurst Park on 26 January.
