The incident involving Roberto Firmino and Mason Holgate that ended with a racism claim is being probed to the same depth as was Luis Suarez’ concerning Patrice Evra.
The Sun report that the FA are to announce a decision concerning Firmino’s possible charges, after he was alleged to have racially abused Holgate.
The incident has been probed to the same extent that saw Suarez receive an eight game suspension, after interviews were undertaken with Evra and the Uruguayan.
This is a worrying update for Liverpool, as the Brazilian has became an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s team this season.
It is known that The FA utilises experts on linguistic and cultural interpretations, and are investigating Holgate’s claim following the Merseyside derby in January.
The report also states that Firmino’s case includes interviewing other players that were in and around the incident to gain more evidence.
Both clubs are said to be fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation, that has lasted the best part of a month.
Klopp will have to look at other team options should Firmino be banned, as Daniel Sturridge left the club during the january transfer window to join West Brom on loan.
