Hugo Lloris should be stripped of Tottenham captaincy after controversial footage missed by BBC cameras – Ex-Premier League referee
Hugo Lloris should be stripped of the Tottenham captaincy, according to Keith Hackett.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Fifa and Premier League referee delivered his verdict after Tottenham’s 3-1 win over West Ham yesterday (20 March).
In an incident missed by the BBC’s Match of the Day 2 cameras, the Spurs and West Ham players got involved in a mass confrontation after Kurt Zouma kicked the ball at Heung-min Son who was on the ground nursing an injury in the opposition penalty box.

After tempers had calmed down, referee Anthony Taylor brought Hammers captain Declan Rice over to warn him about his teammates.
There was no Spurs representation during the warning as Lloris was standing in his own area far away from the action.
“I think Tottenham need a rethink,” Hackett told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea to have the goalkeeper as the skipper. There is no power in law apart from determining which way you are going to kick off if you win the toss.
“It’s very much about being involved in that process. The referee can run along and say ‘Skipper, your number eight is having a bit of a go’.
“That sort of thing is overlooked and managers should be aware that it takes place during play.”

Lloris has been captain of Spurs for almost seven years and is also captain of France.
His Tottenham vice-captain is Harry Kane who also skippers his country.
In other news, a Tottenham favourite would ‘love’ to return this summer and he’s in regular contact with Daniel Levy.
