Mats Hummels delivers verdict on Celtic Park after Bayern Munich win
By James Black
Bayern Munich star Mats Hummels has admitted he “loved it” at Celtic Park as his side secured their place in the last-sixteen of the Champions League with a 2-1 win over Celtic.
Hummels was named as a substitute for the Bavarian giants as goals from Kingsley Coman and Javi Martinez sealed the three points after Callum McGregor’s strike for the Hoops.
The German defender was blown away by the atmosphere inside Parkhead as the Hoops fans roared their team on in hope of a famous win over the Bundesliga champions and after the game, Hummels took to social media to rave about the stadium.
“Great stadium and outstanding atmosphere,” Hummels wrote on his personal Twitter account accompanied by a selfie pitchside after the game.
“Loved it. Hopefully till next time Celtic”

The stadium, in Glasgow’s east end, was packed to the rafters as the five-time European Cup winners came to town and was a cauldron of noise as kick-off approached.
The Parkhead fans did everything to make the atmosphere as intimidating as possible for their opponents but couldn’t stop their side falling to a 2-1 defeat.
The result means Celtic are out of the competition and must look to the Europa League if they are to achieve European football after Christmas for the first time in five years.
Brendan Rodgers’ side still have a trip to the Parc des Prince to negotiate before facing Anderlecht at home in the final round of group stage games.
