Hutton delivers 'nightmare' Bailey verdict after early Aston Villa team news
Alan Hutton has tipped Aston Villa new arrival Leon Bailey to “hit the ground running” at the club ahead of a potential full debut.
The former Claret and Blue defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, compared the 24-year-old’s direct running to that of departed Villa star Jack Grealish.
According to Birmingham Live (September 15th), youngsters Carney Chukwuemeka and Jaden Philogene-Bidace remain sidelined through injury ahead of the Premier League meeting with Everton.
The duo have both featured in the top flight this season. Their absences could pave the way for Bailey and Emi Buendia to start this weekend.
Bailey returned from his own injury problems with a 34-minute cameo in the 3-0 away loss against Chelsea.
The Jamaica international winger signed for Villa from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer window for £30million.

Hutton raved about the former Genk star, claiming he can “make something happen” for Aston Villa.
“He’s got pace to burn,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“He brings something different to Traore and El Ghazi. They’re both quick players, but this boy looks really fast.
“He looks like he can make something happen, he’s got a trick in the locker, and he’s very direct.
“Bailey brings something different from what Jack Grealish brought, but it’s that same direct running that they’ve missed.
“He’s struggled with niggles and injuries at the start of the season but after that cameo at the weekend, he can really hit the ground running.
“Villa really need him at the moment – he’s a full-back’s nightmare.”
On Tuesday (September 14th), Football Insider exclusively revealed that manager Dean Smith is facing increasing job pressure.
Aston Villa currently sit a lowly 12th in the Premier League table with four points from as many games.
