Hutton: New Kamara contract 'huge boost' for Rangers after Gerrard reveal
Alan Hutton has claimed it would be a “huge boost” for Rangers if Glen Kamara signed a new contract.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender emphasised that losing 25-year-old would be a big blow for Steven Gerrard.
As quoted by Sky Sports (August 6th), Gerrard confirmed the Light Blues had tabled a “real strong contract offer” that Kamara’s advisers are “happy with”.
The Finland international has two years left to run on his current deal.
Hutton was complementary about Kamara’s development at Rangers, expressing hopes he would continue at Ibrox.
He told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge: “It would be a huge boost if they could get him to sign, but the ball is in his court now.

“Every player has a price tag, that’s just the way it works. Kamara was brought in for £50,000, has played so well and has become an international. He’s on the radar now.
“Now there are rumours of £10million bids coming in for him – that’s what happens.
“It’s clear how much Rangers missed him when he was suspended against Malmo. He dictates the play in midfield, setting the tempo, holding on to the ball.
“If Kamara was playing I don’t think Rangers would have lost their composure as they did in the second half.
Kamara signed for Rangers from fellow Scottish side Dundee in January 2019.
The 25-cap midfielder came through the ranks at Arsenal before departing for Scotland in 2017.
