‘I know Sean Dyche and this is what he’s changed at Nottingham Forest to inspire Liverpool demolition’

Sean Dyche has enjoyed a strong start to life at Nottingham Forest thanks to quick changes he made after replacing Ange Postecoglou.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Dyche is already getting the best out of his Nottingham Forest stars.

Dyche was appointed to replace Postecoglou in October, and has enjoyed three wins, two draws and just one defeat in six games since arriving at the City Ground.

Meanwhile, Brown told Football Insider last month that Dyche would immediately reverse Postecoglou’s mistakes by taking Forest back to their defensive system.

Last time out, Nottingham Forest beat Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield, and Arne Slot’s team were brushed aside by a rejuvenated Forest XI who are back to their best.

Brown told Football Insider last month that Dyche is the perfect boss for Nottingham Forest as he prepared to replace Postecoglou at the City Ground.

The former scout, who has a wealth of experience working closely alongside elite-level managers including Sir Alex Ferguson for over a decade at Man United, insisted that the former Everton boss’ impact has been made clear for all to see.

What I’ve always thought about Dyche is, what you see is what you get,” he told Football Insider.

“He pays attention to the basics of the game, which every team has to do whether it’s the interesting thing to talk about or not.

“As we’ve said many times, you can’t win anything if you can’t defend. He’s taken Forest back to doing what they’re best at.

“Dyche doesn’t need me to say it, it’s clear to see by the results he’s picked up since going in there, there has been a clear turnaround in their form.

“It’s doing him a disservice to put it all down to doing the basics, he’s getting the best out of the players available to him, and that’s as much as you can do as a manager.

“He’s honest and straightforward, says it how it is, and he isn’t afraid to demand more of his players both on the pitch and on the training ground.

“Forest have come to terms with the fact that they are where they are, and playing flashy gung-ho football isn’t what they need at the moment.

“I said at the time Dyche was the perfect man for the job, and that has proved to be the case, and I’m happy to see him doing well there.”

Nottingham Forest plan to back Dyche in January

Brown told Football Insider on 13 November that Dyche wants to be backed by Nottingham Forest as he aims to strengthen his squad in the mid-season window.

Forest have always shown a willingness to back managers financially, having done so during the summer when they spent around £210million on new players.

However, given the level of control Evangelos Marinakis and Edu Gaspar have over the transfer policy, questions have been asked about Dyche’s backing.

Football Insider revealed on 21 October that Nottingham Forest could be restricted in January as a result of their massive spending during the summer window.

However, while Dyche would be content to work with what he has, the boss is determined to bolster his squad and will seek backing from the ownership and recruitment team.
