‘I never want to see him again’ – Newcastle fans hammer Miguel Almiron after what he did in 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest

Newcastle United fans have hammered Miguel Almiron for his “woeful” blunder against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday (26 December).

The Magpies were 1-0 up in the closing stages of the first half at St James’ Park, but the Paraguayan’s weak pass in the box allowed Forest a swift counter-attack, which was cooly finished off by their former player Chris Wood.

Eddie Howe’s side went on to lose 3-1, their sixth loss in seven games in all competitions and looked pathetic in defence despite creating some good chances for themselves.

Almiron was hauled off soon after Woods’ 53rd-minute second, managing just one shot and one successful dribble in the latest dreary performance for the 29-year-old.

He also nearly bagged himself an own goal early in the second half after he lashed it towards Dubravka, but fans were outraged that he directly sparked Forest’s comeback.

They have taken to social media to berate the forward, and some now want him axed from the starting line-up for good.
