'I was not respected' - Tottenham summer signing reveals Euro giants contract offer

Serge Aurier has revealed that he was offered a new three-year contract by Paris Saint-Germain before he completed his summer move to Tottenham.
Aurier, 24, was confirmed as a Spurs player the day before the transfer deadline in a deal worth £23million and the right-back has now made it clear of what his motivation behind the move was.
The 40-times Ivory Coast international claims that he wasn’t respected at European giants PSG and had no choice but to reject the contract offer that was given to him prior to his Spurs switch.
“I am morally liberated. I left PSG, who had offered me a new three-year contract, for another adventure. I refused for various reasons. I want to discover another life because in Paris, I was not respected at my true value,” he said in an interview with CAF Online.
“We dwelt on many details, we thought more about something else than the footballer. In terms of statistics, of all defenders of the French Ligue 1 championship, from 2013 until today, I am the most decisive.

“I also won nine titles with the PSG. It is to say that there are more significant things in my career, but they preferred to dwell on what happened outside the stadiums. At the club, I got along well with everyone: leaders, players, coaches and supporters. As proof, the club still held on to me, but I had to think of myself.”
Aurier is likely to have been snapped up by Mauricio Pochettino as a replacement for Kyle Walker, who signed for Manchester City for over £50million earlier in the summer.
It remains to be seen whether the ex-PSG ace will come into the first-team plans straight away or if Pochettino will continue to put his faith in Kieran Trippier, who has been in top form since replacing Walker in the Tottenham squad.
Aurier won two Ligue 1 titles during his spell at Paris Saint-Germain and made 81 appearances across all competitions.
However the Ivorian full-back found himself as a rotational player last term and was left out of the squad in each of PSG’s opening games of this season.
