'I take it all back' - Exclusive: Paul Robinson makes U-turn on Everton senior player

Paul Robinson revealed he took back everything he previously said about Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin this season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former Tottenham keeper admitted that he had been disappointed with Schneiderlin all season.

Robinson previously told Football Insider that he couldn’t understand why Marco Silva kept playing the Frenchman as he was one of the reasons why the Toffees were leaking goals.

The ex-Tottenham player admitted he had changed his mind on Schneiderlin following his performance in the 3-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday.

When asked about Schneiderlin impressing against Chelsea, Robinson told Football Insider: “Him and Sigurdsson, I’ve been disappointed with them all season.

“They’ve both underperformed, both underachieved, both haven’t worked hard enough, both haven’t made enough tackles and both haven’t played well enough.

“But I take it all back after their performances against Chelsea.

“Both delivered exactly what you expected, both looked like quality players at times, at times Chelsea got at them a little bit, but them along with the whole team… it was a completely transformed Everton team.

“And it just really really highlights how players can get a manager the sack by not playing for him.”

The 30-year-old has played 13 times across all competitions this season, racking up one assist in the process.

In Silva’s last two league games in charge, Schneiderlin was reduced to a cameo role but caretaker manager Duncan Ferguson opted to use the midfield enforcer for the full 90 minutes on Saturday.
