Ian Taylor has expressed his delight on Twitter after Aston Villa beat Bristol City 2-0 on Tuesday night in their Championship clash.
Former Premier League midfielder Taylor hailed 26-year-old Conor Hourihane for scoring his first goal for the club during the win at Villa Park.
The result means that Steve Bruce has now guided his team to back-to-back wins after they also recorded three points against Derby County at the weekend.
Against the Robins, the game did not start as Bruce would have liked when striker Jonathan Kodjia struck his penalty on the crossbar.
However, he made up for that miss when he opened the scoring in the second half with a wonderfully timed header and was backed up by Hourihane who struck home five minutes later.
After the game, Villa Park fan favourite Taylor was pleased with the team’s performance and their clean sheet.
“Back to back wins,” Taylor wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Clean sheet, two goals and Conor Hourihane’s first goal! Three wins in a row? Bring on Saturday.

The Midlands outfit will travel to Yorkshire on Saturday afternoon when they take on rock-bottom Rotherham.
During the previous fixture between the two sides, Villa, who were then managed by Roberto Di Matteo, recorded a comfortable 3-0 win against the struggling second-tier team.
After suffering five defeats on the bounce prior to their last two games, Villa now have the chance of securing three wins in a row within the space of a week.
