In the away end: Ian Taylor delivers verdict after Aston Villa beat Rotherham
By Amir Mir
Ian Taylor hailed Aston Villa for their hard fought win after they beat Rotherham 2-0 in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Steve Bruce has now guided his team to three wins within the space of a week which has also seen them secure three clean sheets during those matches too.
A frustrating first half for the away team saw two Villa players go off injured, first Birkir Bjarnason then his replacement Jack Grealish.
Nonetheless, Millers defender Will Vaulks put the ball into the back of the net on 68 minutes to give Bruce’s side the lead.
Thereafter, striker Jonathan Kodjia scored in as many games to help secure all three points with his lovely finish three minutes from time.

“Three wins on the spin,” Taylor wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Hard fought but great result. A great day with the best fans. Thanks for the love.”

Prior to their recent wins against Rotherham, Bristol City on Tuesday night and promotion chasers Derby County last Saturday, Villa had suffered five defeats on the bounce.
However, they have now changed their fortunes around and moved away from a possible relegation battle to safety in mid-table.
Bruce’s side are 13th in the table on 45 points from their 35 games, 11 points ahead of the relegation zone and two points ahead of their bitter rivals Birmingham City.
In other Aston Villa news, this 29-year-old could be sold due to his inconsistencies.
