Ianis Hagi and Kemar Roofe react to Rangers ace Butland’s ‘brilliant’ update
Jack Butland has taken to social media to reflect on a productive period for the goalkeeper, prompting a response from his former Rangers teammates Kemar Roofe and Ianis Hagi.
Following the takeover at Ibrox by Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises this summer the club will be heading into a new era for the 2025/26 campaign.
That will ensure there will already be pressure on new manager Russell Martin to close the gap on rivals Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
Butland has now seemingly been working hard during the summer, to ensure he is ready to play his part in that.

Jack Butland reviews goalkeeper training camp
Over the past week, the Rangers shot-stopper and other goalkeepers such as Sam Johnstone and Josh Griffiths, have been taking part in a training camp in Portugal, led by former players Neil Cutler and John Whitney.
Taking to Instagram to give his thoughts on the experience following the end of the camp, Butland wrote: “Brilliant week of work with a top group of people.
“Thank you for the work on and off the pitch Neil Cutler and Jon Whitney. Challenging, demanding sessions and bags of energy for those early starts. More than ready to get the season started.”
Hagi has already left Rangers following the expiration of his contract at the end of last season, after a more than five years on the books at Ibrox.
Meanwhile, Roofe joined Championship side Derby back in February to secure a new club eight months after his release by the ‘Gers.
Even so, both were still keen to show their backing to their old Rangers teammate, with the duo both liking that post from Butland.
Rangers fans will welcome new update
Football Insider Verdict
It was a mixed season for Butland at Ibrox during the 2024/25 campaign, which did produce some heroic performances from the goalkeeper.
However, he would also make some costly errors during that period, which did not help his side as they fell short in the search for trophies.
Indeed, he was even dropped from the starting XI for a period late on in the campaign, although Football Insider has been told Rangers still want to keep Butland for next season.
As a result, the fact he is putting this work in will be a welcome sight for the club’s supporters, showing he is doing what he can to improve and avoid a repeat of some of what happened last season.
Showing that commitment during the break at the end of a long and hard campaign, is at least something he surely deserves credit for.
