Celtic chiefs have privately been blown away by Rangers star Ryan Kent this season, Football Insider has learned.
The winger, 24, has spearheaded the Ibrox giants’ remarkable 22-match unbeaten campaign that has given them a great chance of demolishing the Hoops’ 10-in-a-row dream.
Kent has emerged as a huge favourite of the Rangers faithful and is also attracting envious glances from across Glasgow.
A senior Hoops source is said to have privately admitted Kent is an “extraordinary” talent and he would “love him at Celtic”.
It is a feeling shared among many at the Scottish champions, who recognise what a player Steven Gerrard has in his ranks.
This site broke the news last month that Rangers are keen to reward Kent with a new and improved contract that reflects his enhanced status in the team.
But a complication has emerged in that the player has switched agents and is now being looked after by his family, including brother Casper Kent.
It remains to be seen if this change will have a major effect on Kent’s talks with Rangers over a new deal, especially with the January window providing a potential obstacle.
Football Insider exclusively revealed in September that Kent has a £20million release clause in his contract.
Kent has supplanted Morelos as the biggest matchwinner in Gerrard’s side.
He has made 21 appearances for Rangers this season, scoring six goals and providing seven assists.
