Igor Jesus shares instant thoughts after making Nottingham Forest history
Nottingham Forest striker Igor Jesus shared a reaction on social media after he marked his name in the history books with a standout Europa League debut.
Nottingham Forest were denied all three points on their return to Europe after former Man United winger Antony struck late for the home side in a 2-2 draw.
Despite going down early on, Ange Postecoglou’s side fought back to take the lead with Jesus netting twice, until Antony equalised in the 85th minute.
Jesus impressed for Forest on the night, as he led the line instead of Chris Wood, and his two goals meant he became the first player to score twice on his major European competition debut with the club [OptaJoe on X].
Despite not gaining all three points, the Brazilian posted on social media to share a positive reaction after the result.
Igor Jesus sends positive message after Forest brace
The 24-year-old posted on his Instagram story with a message of belief as he said: “And Jesus said to him, if thou can’t believe; everything is possible to one who believes”.
The striker has had a fantastic start to his Forest career, as he also netted twice in the Carabao Cup despite Forest’s early exit to Swansea City.

He was signed over the summer for a reported £10 million fe on a four-year contract, just after he had competed in the Club World Cup with Botafogo and scored twice.
He is one of four Botafogo players to join the club this summer, signing along with Jair Cunha, John Victor, and Cuiabano, who has been loaned back to Botafogo.

Chris Wood may fear his position as Igor Jesus shines
With Jesus making two starts under Postecoglou, the Brazilian has already netted four times and seems to suit the front-footed approach by the manager.
Meanwhile, Wood was an unused substitute against Betis as the New Zealand international has scored twice this season so far.
There have already been suggestions that Wood “won’t be happy” with Postecoglou after missing out on his European debut with the side, especially with his replacement making an impact in his place.
Now, with the Brazilian in fine form, time will tell if the Australian coach trusts last season’s top scorer in Wood or continues the momentum from the new signing.
