Thomas Partey’s return from injury is “massive” for Arsenal with the midfielder “truly missed” over the festive period, according to Kevin Campbell.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners striker revealed that he has been disappointed by the performances of Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny and Dani Ceballos in the 27-year-old’s absence.
Partey has been sidelined with a hip injury since the North London Derby in December but returned to full training this week ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Newcastle.

The £45million summer signing from Atletico Madrid has made just six appearances for Mikel Arteta’s side this season, producing a man of the match display in a 1-0 win over Manchester United in November.
Campbell hopes the Ghana international will get some minutes under his belt this weekend.
“It is massively important to get him back fit,” he told Football Insider.
“Stick him on the bench, let him have a run out for 20 minutes to get that feel again.
“It’s really important because we have truly missed him.
“I will be honest with you, even though we have been winning games, I’m not happy with how things have been in the centre of the pitch. Xhaka, Elneny and Ceballos in respective games have done okay but I still think we are not strong enough in that area.
“We need our top guy back. We need Partey in there. To see him back in training is great and his return is very welcome.”
