'Everyone at Chelsea knows what happened' - Conte laughs off Costa speculation
By Abigail Withey
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has responded in a bold fashion during Chelsea’s media conference when asked about the situation surrounding Diego Costa.
The story around the 28-year-old’s future with the club has been a huge talking point of the transfer window, with numerous public fall outs between the forward and Chelsea manager.
The saga began when Conte text messaged the Spaniard to tell him that he was no longer part of the manager’s plans for the 2017/18 season.
Since then, Costa has very publicly made it clear that he no longer wants to stay at Stamford Bridge, and instead prefers a move to former club Atletico Madrid.
However, the Spanish striker is unable to move to the La Liga side until January 2018 due to their transfer ban being upheld.

The Chelsea boss was asked about Costa’s statement saying that he felt like a criminal, to which Conte burst into fits of laughter before delivering his response on the troublesome player.
He said: “It’s great, it’s great. I prefer to laugh.”
“I can tell you everyone at Chelsea knows what happened with him last season,” he revealed during the press conference, as quoted by the Independent. “It’s funny, this interview.”
Once he had finished laughing and joking with reporters the Blues boss delivered his verdict on the matter by stating that he had moved on.
“I’m not interested to continue this issue. I repeat: for me, he is the past.”
Chelsea head across London to Wembley stadium to face Tottenham at their temporary home on Sunday afternoon and will be hoping for a better result after their disappointing 3-2 defeat against Burnley during the opening weekend of the campaign.
