'Incredible' Emerson Royal will 'start every game' after what Tottenham insider has seen
Emerson Royal is Nuno Espirito Santo’s go-to right back after his brilliant performance for Tottenham v Aston Villa.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Emerson started on Sunday as Spurs returned to winning ways with a 2-1 triumph over Aston Villa on Sunday.
The summer signing was given the nod over Japhet Tanganga, who started the club’s first few games of the season.
His form earned him a call up to the Brazil squad for October’s set of international matches.
Wenham was blown away by the defender’s efforts against Villa as he shone against quality opposition.

“Emerson Royal did incredibly well up and down the right-hand side,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Villa have some excellent full-backs so it wasn’t easy for him. The fans were right behind him yesterday, there was a great atmosphere.
“In hindsight, maybe it was right he didn’t start against Arsenal. I got a really positive vibe from Emerson.
“It looks like he will be the go-to right-back now I expect he will start every game if he’s fit. He’s earned himself a call up to the Brazil squad as well.
“We need him to build on that because we have four successive away games coming up and that will be a real test of his character.
“I’ve been impressed with how he has adapted to the Premier League already.
“He gave us a new dimension against Villa and I can’t wait to see how he develops at the club.”
Emerson has made nine appearances for Spurs since joining from Barcelona in the summer.
Brazil face Venezuela, Colombia and Uruguay over the next two weeks.
