Insider: 18-year-old set for Tottenham promotion after dazzling against De Bruyne and Hazard

Maksim Paskotsi’s place in the Tottenham Under-23s hinges on the club’s decision over Malachi Fagan-Walcott’s future.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Paskotsi, 18, is already a regular for the Estonia national side and made his senior Spurs debut in the qualifying rounds of the Europa Conference League.

He joined the club from Estonian outfit FC Flora in the summer of 2020 and has featured heavily in the youth setup.

However, he has been sat behind Fagan-Walcott, 19, in the Under 23s pecking order, only making four appearances this season.

Wenham claims Fagan-Walcott is set for a January loan and this will allow Paskotsi to have a run in the Under 23s.

“Paskotsi is an interesting one,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He’s one who could leave in theory but I think he will stay with the club this season.

“Some Tottenham fans are grumbling about Paskotsi having 10 Estonia caps. Why he’s not getting a game for the Under 23s?

“From what I understand he actually performed very well against the likes of De Bruyne and Hazard the other night.

“What I think will happen is, Malachi Fagan-Walcott will go out on loan in January.

“He was up at Dundee last year and started very well but unfortunately picked up an injury and had to return.

“He’s already made his first-team debut and he’s someone who I really like.

“Him leaving will allow Paskotsi to challenge for a place in the Under 23s ahead of a loan move next year.”
