Insider: Dele Alli one of three stars who may have played their last Tottenham game – two started v Burnley

Dele Alli, Giovanni Lo Celso and Ben Davies may have played their last games for Tottenham.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Alli, 25, Lo Celso, 25, and Davies, 28, all flopped in last Thursday’s 1-0 loss to Vitesse in the Europa Conference League.

They were then omitted from the team for the Premier League defeat to West Ham.

Alli was also left out of the squad completely for last night’s 1-0 League Cup win at Burnley despite being fit, although Lo Celso and Davies both made the starting XI as Nuno Espirito Santo fielded a slightly weakened team.

Wenham insists every player who played against Vitesse failed to stake a claim and singled out Alli, Lo Celso and Davies for extra criticism.

“I don’t know how much clearer I can be about this,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Some of the players who played against Vitesse really let themselves down.

“I was especially annoyed by the likes of Dele Alli and Lo Celso. Talk about a B team.

“Some of those players have 240 combined appearances in Europe. This was an experienced side.

“Ben Davis, another one who was really disappointing. They were so poor, so poor.

“These players had a huge chance to stake a claim and secure a vital win in Europe.

“Nuno now has absolutely nothing to think about going forward, all of those players let him down.

“I can’t see them playing again for a good while, if ever. It’s so annoying.”

Tottenham went on to lose Sunday’s clash against West Ham 1-0.

Their next Premier League game is against Manchester United this Saturday.
