West Ham insider answers fan question asking for the latest on Carvalho
By Harvey Byrne
West Ham want to get a deal done for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho so that he can face Southampton on Saturday, according to a club insider.
ExWHUemployee, who has proven to be a reliable source of Hammers information has claimed on their personal Twitter account that the east London club want the 25-year-old to play in their next fixture against the Saints.
The insider’s response came after a supporter asked for the latest on the once thought bright prospect.
@ExWHUemployee what's the latest on carvalho?

The aim is to get it done so he can play on Saturday! Whether they will be able to or not I am not sure at this point https://t.co/lCwhzyXr2J

The update follows a report from the Daily Mail claiming that Carvalho would fly out to London this week after West Ham launched a near-£40million bid.
However, there was no mention of the club wanting the enforcer to play against Southampton, which would prove to be a bold move given he would have had just a matter of days to work with his new teammates.

But, Carvalho was once thought of as one of Europe’s brightest young talents and despite not reaching that potential he is still a highly talented player and Slaven Bilic must feel he is a necessary addition to the Hammers’ midfield after their opening day 4-0 defeat against Manchester United.
In other West Ham transfer news, the Hammers have had a seven-figure bid rejected for this Spanish attacker.
