Rangers defender Declan John is expected to be fit for next weekend’s Old Firm clash with Celtic, according to a club insider.

According to EST. Consultancy on Twitter, who have a fantastic recent record of breaking Rangers news, the left-back should be fit for the crunch clash with Brendan Rodgers’ side.

John has missed the last two Gers games after a picking up a groin injury and his return would be a major boost to the Light Blues after having to play midfielder Andy Halliday in his place.

Club captain Lee Wallace is also out injured and looks set to miss the clash with the champions.

A win for the Gers would see them close to three points behind Celtic inthe Scottish Premiership table after looking dead in the water in the title race a few weeks ago.

John’s return is fantastic news for the Light Blues ahead of what will be their biggest game of the season and potentially blow the title race wide open. John has been a huge part of the Gers’ play since coming into the side in September and his absence has been a loss for Graeme Murty’s side. If the Gers can also get Jamie Murphy fit it will be fantastic news and give their chances of taking the three points a massive boost.

In other Rangers news, this Premier League playmaker wanted a future at Ibrox in 2011 and this summer is his chance to realise that dream.
