Insider tips Doherty to complete ‘permanent’ Tottenham exit after ‘asking himself questions’
Matt Doherty will be seriously considering his future at Tottenham after failing to make the bench against Newcastle.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Doherty, 29, has only made five appearances in all competitions this season.

The former Wolves man failed to make the bench as Tottenham beat Newcastle 3-2 on Sunday.
It has been suggested that the defender’s game time would increase under former boss Nuno Espirito Santo but this has not been the case.
Wenham insists Doherty will be asking himself some questions ahead of January and could push for a move.
“Doherty isn’t getting a look-in,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Japhet Tanganga and Emerson Royal are the two designated right-backs at the club.
“Do we need three right-backs? I would say ‘no’. He’s just come back from international duty where he did really well.
“Now he doesn’t even make the bench. He is really struggling for game time.
“Everyone thought he would get more game time under Nuno. But it was Nuno who was happy to sell him to Tottenham in the first place.
“I think Doherty will be asking himself some questions in the coming weeks.
“That’s another one where I can see a permanent exit if things don’t change.”

Doherty has made 34 appearances for Tottenham since signing for the club last summer.
He is yet to score but has registered six assists.
