Insider tips Tottenham to pull off 'Paratici special' in January after Kessie update

Franck Kessie is a “realistic” signing Tottenham could complete in January – thanks to Fabio Paratici.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

On 2 November, Gazzetta dello Sport claimed Tottenham were in “advanced talks” to sign the 24-year-old AC Milan lynchpin.

However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, speaking on The Last Word On Spurs podcast, insisted the midfielder’s future is still up in the air.

Interestingly, he also claimed Fabio Paratici tried to sign Kessie when he was at Atalanta.

Wenham sees Kessie as a “realistic” target Spurs could sign during the January transfer window.

“I see that as a realistic transfer,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I say that mainly because of Paratici’s previous experience of working with these kinds of deals, it’s his speciality.

“He is an expert at getting these deals done. He did it numerous times at Juventus.

“We have seen him offer clubs a smaller fee to get the player in January after already agreeing a pre-contract deal.

“Tottenham did that with Lewis Holtby. It’s certainly possible and it’s one of those realistic transfers.

“Kessie is a great age and as soon as you get him on a 5-year deal his value goes up to £40million or £50million.”

Tottenham have plenty of midfielders though Harry Winks and Dele Alli found themselves out of favour under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Spurs are next in action against Leeds after the international break.
