Insider: Tottenham handed 'huge boost' pre-Aston Villa after confirmed injury update
Tottenham have been handed a major boost with Leon Bailey sidelined for their clash against Aston Villa at the weekend.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
As confirmed by Dean Smith on Thursday (23rd September), Villa will be without summer signing Bailey until after the October international break.
That means his next outing could come on 16 October against Wolves.
In his last game, against Everton, the attacker picked up a goal and an assist before going off injured.
Tottenham have conceded nine goals in their last three Premier League games while only scoring once.

Wenham claims he feared for his side’s defenders before hearing Bailey would miss the clash.
“That’s a huge boost,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Bailey is a really threatening player and I would worry for our defence if he was going to start.
“We all saw what he could do against Everton last week. Our defence isn’t exactly solid at the moment.
“Villa have some great players with Bailey chief among them. Him not being there is a boost.
“We are conceding a lot of goals and any help we can take then great. It’s a big game for us and I will take any advantage.”
Spurs welcome Villa to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
Dean Smith’s side three places above their hosts in the Premier League table.
