Insider: Tottenham have ‘lost three players’ as Nuno forced into denial

Tottenham are being punished for failing to sign an adequate Christian Eriksen replacement amid a “serious creativity problem”.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

This came as, according to WhoScored, Tottenham failed to register a shot after the 43rd minute in their 1-0 loss.

This was the third time Spurs failed to register a shot on target in the second half of a Premier League match this season.

Similarly, Tottenham only registered one shot on target during their 1-0 win over Burnley on Wednesday night.

Wenham disagrees with Nuno and claims Spurs need to sign an Eriksen replacement to unlock their potential.

“We do have a serious creativity problem,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“That stems from when Christian Eriksen left the club. Three players have been shoehorned in to try and replace him.

“Dele Alli, Giovanni Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele are the three and together they aren’t better than Eriksen.

“It’s as simple as that. We don’t create many clear cut chances and that breed more issues.

“That leads to Harry Kane dropping deep and trying to create chances for himself.

“He can’t create and score, it’s not possible. Losing Eriksen is like we have lost three players on the pitch.

“He really was the fulcrum of our success under Pochettino. We simply haven’t replaced him.

“The players we have signed aren’t up to the task and that leads to the kinds of stats we have seen and results like losing to West Ham.”
