Insider: Tottenham recall for Markanday on the cards after 'amazing' development
Dilan Markanday is getting closer to another first-team chance after an impressive run of form for the Tottenham Under 23 side.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Markanday, 20, made his senior Tottenham debut during October’s 1-0 loss to Vitesse in the Europa Conference League.
The youngster has now scored nine goals in nine Premier League 2 games.
He scored a last-gasp goal as Tottenham’s Under 23s beat Man United Under 23s on Saturday.
Wenham insists Markanday is getting closer to another first-team chance as he continues to impress in the youth sides.

“Tottenham’s Under 23 side picked up another impressive win last Saturday,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Dilan Markanday popped up yet again with an injury-time goal in a 1-0 win over Manchester United.
“It was a strong Tottenham team against a very decent Manchester United team.
“He’s playing amazingly and doing himself absolutely no harm as he looks to get another first-team chance.
“I was hoping he would be involved in some capacity against Vitesse.
“I can’t speak highly enough of Markanday. He keeps getting better every week and he is showing no signs of slowing down.”
On 19 January, Spurs announced Markanday has a deal that expires in the summer of 2022.
Wenham has previously explained he expects Spurs to offer the 20-year-old a new deal before January after a social media clue.
