West Ham will be forced to make a last minute decision over whether star attacker Manuel Lanzini features in their clash with Southampton on Saturday, according to a club insider.
The reliable Twitter account ExWHUEmployee, who has established themselves into a reputable source of insider information surrounding the Hammers, has claimed that the 25-year-old will face a final assessment on Saturday before the home match against the Saints.
Injury update: Apparently Ginge trained today as did Kouyate so both are set to feature against Southampton. Lanzini didn’t train and will be assessed on Saturday ⚒

Lanzini, who is said to have sat out training on Thurday, is a doubt as a result of an injury blow picked up while on international duty with Argentina, and the club will be desperate to have him back as soon as possible, having made 23 appearances this season, chipping in with three goals and eight assists.
The showdown at the London Stadium is a crunch match in terms of Premier League survival, West Ham two points and a place above the Saints, who sit in the relegation zone.
Football Insider verdict
It seems as though Lanzini is fighting a losing battle to be fit to take on the Irons’ relegation rivals and the best that they could hope for is a substitute outing, with his absence from training two days before not a good sign. Perhaps resting him up and ensuring he is fit and ready to fight for the remaining games of the season would be best, but only David Moyes and his medical team will truly know the true extent of his injury. Any which way, it is a massive blow to the Hammers’ hopes, especially against a side also battling it out at the bottom of the table, and points against your closest rivals can mean the most come the end of the season.
