Kevin Campbell slammed Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin for being afraid to tackle and his “unprofessional” throws.
The former Gunners striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, insisted it is “ridiculous” and “not on” that a player at his level is giving away foul throws.
The 25-year-old committed his fifth foul throw of the season on Sunday, more than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues.
The right-back, who has three years remaining on his £110,000-a-week contract at the Emirates, could also be part-blamed for both of Spurs’ goals.
Campbell insisted he is yet to see an accomplished defensive performance from the Spain international.
“You could see the first goal coming a mile off,” he told Football Insider.
“You cannot keep backing off Son, he is Spurs’ in-form guy. Why does Bellerin not go and make a tackle? Go and get stuck in and make a tackle.
“In the key moments the players did not step up.
“The debate has been out on Bellerin for a while now. His defensive qualities come into question against the big teams.
“I am yet to see a dominant full-back display from Bellerin. I know he is very good going forward but I do not see him as a defender. He is a converted winger.
“As a full-back, your first job is to defend and let’s not even talk about the foul throws. It is getting ridiculous. He is a professional footballer. It is not on.”
