It’s ‘not looking good’ for Ajeti and Giakoumakis at Celtic after source’s £8.5m Monday reveal – pundit
Albian Ajeti and Georgos Giakoumakis could leave Celtic on loan this month with the club eyeing two new strikers.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Hoops duos’ immediate futures.
A recruitment source told Football Insider on Monday (10 January) that Celtic have made it a top priority to sign two more forwards before the close of the transfer window.

This comes as the Hoops close in on the permanent signing of Jota from Benfica.
Ajeti, who signed for £4.5million rising to a potential £6m in 2020, and Giakoumakis, who signed for £2.5m last summer, have been knocked further down the pecking order at Parkhead following the arrival of Daizen Maeda.
Kenny insists the duo may have to leave the club on loan as they may be removed from the club’s Premiership squad.
“Celtic need to improve,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“If they want to properly challenge Rangers, they can’t have any hangers-on.
“It’s great ambition to see they are looking at two strikers but it makes you think about the lads who aren’t playing.
“Ajeti and Giakoumakis just aren’t playing and when they are they aren’t impressing.
“Celtic have a big squad as well, so if these players come in I think they will have to go, at least out on loan and probably permanently.
“You can’t have four or five strikers on the books when you only ever use one.
“It’s not looking good for those two but it’s up to them to prove the manager wrong.”

Giakoumakis has only made eight appearances this season, scoring one goal.
Ajeti has made 17 appearances and has scored three goals.
