Jack Butland and Clinton Nsiala react to emotional Rangers farewell message

Jack Butland and Clinton Nsiala showed their support as one player bid farewell to the Rangers faithful ahead of his exit this summer.

It has been an incredibly difficult campaign for the Gers, especially losing the Scottish Premiership title race by such a large margin to Celtic, but there is still hope at Ibrox ahead of next season.

49ers Enterprises’ impending takeover at Rangers has plenty of supporters excited for the summer transfer window, with exit decisions already being made behind the scenes.

Ianis Hagi, Tom Lawrence, and Leon Balogun are all leaving at the end of their contracts, but to replace these players, the Light Blues will need to do much better when it comes to transfers.

Deals for Oscar Cortes and Rafaeal Fernandes have hardly worked out this season, and while Neraysho Kasanwirjo suffered a season-ending injury in November, fans are hopeful of a permanent deal being struck.

The 23-year-old defender, however, has taken to social media with a new message for the supporters, with a return to Feyenoord on the horizon later next month.

Taking to Instagram (27 May), Kasanwirjo wrote: “Wore the shirt with pride, even when injury kept me off the pitch. Thank you for the trust, support, and memories, Rangers family.”

Butland was the first of his teammates to like the post, with Nsiala replying with love hearts and a star emoji, with the Dutchman’s message gaining plenty of traction amongst the Ibrox faithful.

Football Insider verdict

While player transfers will be at the forefront of supporters’ minds during the summer transfer window, those behind the scenes at Ibrox will be focused on getting the new owners through the door.

Once the 49ers have taken charge, finding a new manager will be one of the first items on the to-do list, though Football Insider understand that Danny Rohl’s release clause will likely prohibit a Rangers move.

That opens the door for Steven Gerrard to make a dramatic Ibrox return following a rollercoaster tenure in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ettifaq, and it remains to be seen how supporters would react to his appointment.

Barry Ferguson offered a newfound hope at times at Ibrox during his short spell as interim manager, and while he has not officially been replaced yet, it feels like only a matter of time before he is.

The Gers may also have to deal with multiple big-name exits, with Mick Brown telling Football Insider that multiple Premier League clubs are interested in Nico Raskin this summer.

Rangers fans remain hopeful of a permanent Kasanwirjo deal, but with the potential for new funds from new owners, there could be multiple new and exciting transfers yet to happen for the Light Blues.
