Jack Grealish posts Twitter message after scoring stunning Aston Villa winner

By Amir Mir

Jack Grealish expressed his delight on Twitter after he hit a stunning late winner for Aston Villa during their 1-0 win against Wigan on Saturday afternoon at Villa Park.

Steve Bruce’s side had looked lacklustre for the majority of the match as the game was heading for a stalemate, before Grealish curled in a magnificent effort after 88 minutes from outside the box.

The three points pushed Villa up the Championship table and to within three points of the final play-off spot.

After the game Grealish was clearly in a buoyant mood as he posted this message on his personal Twitter account.

The Midlands side are yet to be beaten on home soil this term as they have now recorded four wins on the bounce at Villa Park under Bruce.

Academy product Grealish has been a big influence behind that record, making 15 appearances in the Championship this term, scoring three goals and supplying four assists.

Bruce will be now preparing for a tough fixture away from home when Villa travel to fellow promotion chasers Norwich on Tuesday night.

Alex Neil’s men were beaten 2-1 at Barnsley on Saturday as they are now two points ahead of their midweek opponents in the Championship table.

Villa could go level on points with the top six, if they pick up a win at Carrow Road and results go in their favour.

In other Aston Villa news, supporters on Twitter hit out at Ross McCormack’s weight after the win against Wigan.
