Jacob Ramsey, Pedro Neto react to Gibbs-White’s Nottingham Forest thank you message

Nottingham Forest talisman Morgan Gibbs-White has taken to social media to reflect on a remarkable campaign for the club amid speculation about his exit from the club.

Going into this season, the Midlands outfit had spent the last two seasons fighting to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

This time around, things have been different, with Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side fighting for Champions League qualification and making it all the way to the semi finals of the FA Cup.

Ultimately they were forced to settle for a place in the Conference League when it comes to Europe for the coming campaign, though that does not take away from the efforts of many of their players.

The attacking midfielder is certainly one of those, with many shocked after Gibbs-White was initially left out of Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad back in March.

Morgan Gibbs-White transfer speculation continues

That is not the only way in which the Nottingham Forest star has attracted attention in recent months, ahead of the summer transfer window.

Football Insider recently reported that Arsenal are ready to rival Man City for Gibbs-White, as they look to find a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne.

Indeed, there is a feeling it will be a “surprise” if Gibbs-White is still at Nottingham Forest come the start of next season.

Meanwhile, the player himself has now taken to Instagram to give his thoughts on this season, writing: “24/25. What a season with this incredible club. From fighting relegation to being back in Europe after 30 years. Thank you for your unwavering support this season, you’ve been incredible”.

In response, Chelsea star Pedro Neto and Aston Villa ace Jacob Ramsey were among those to show their support by liking that post.

Nottingham Forest fans will be nervous

Football Insider Verdict

It goes without saying that it would be a big blow for Nottingham Forest if Gibbs-White does leave this summer.

The 25-year-old has been at the heart of so much of what this side has done well this season, so his absence would be a big loss ahead of a huge 2025/26 at home and abroad.

But given the opportunities that can be offered by the likes of Man City, and the money they can spend on players, it will be hard to keep him at The City Ground.

Beyond that, Gibbs-White has not made any reference to next season in this post, which some may see as something of a hint that he has his eyes on a move elsewhere.

With that in mind, many connected with Nottingham Forest will no doubt be keeping their eyes out for any updates on the England international this summer, with a considerable sense of concern.
