Jacob Ramsey reacts to Morgan Gibbs-White at Nottingham Forest amid Man City talk
Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White has sent a message to supporters following the latest developments at the club.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed an outstanding season with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, helping them to bounce back emphatically after only narrowly avoiding relegation in recent seasons.
His form meant there was plenty of shock when Gibbs-White initially missed out on a place in Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad earlier this calendar year.
Meanwhile, those performances also mean that Man City have been touted to move for the Nottingham Forest talisman, as they search for a replacement for the outgoing Kevin De Bruyne.

Morgan Gibbs-White reflects on Crystal Palace draw
On Monday (5 May), Nottingham Forest made the trip to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
After a goalless first half, the hosts went ahead through an Ebere Eze penalty, with Nico Dominguez lucky not to be given a second yellow card for a foul on Tyrick Mitchell.
However, Nuno‘s side would equalise less than five minutes later through Murillo, ensuring both sides settled for a point in a 1-1 draw.
Position | Played | Points |
2. Arsenal | 35 | 67 |
3. Manchester City | 35 | 64 |
4. Newcastle United | 35 | 63 |
5. Chelsea | 35 | 63 |
6. Nottingham Forest | 35 | 61 |
7. Aston Villa | 35 | 60 |
With Nottingham Forest still in the battle for European qualification, that result may yet prove to be significant come the end of the campaign.
It certainly appears as though Gibbs-White believes that will prove to be the case. Taking to Instagram to reflect on that match the following day, the 25-year-old simply wrote: “Important point”.
In response Aston Villa attacker Jacob Ramsey, a former England youth international teammates of Gibbs-White’s, was among those to show his support by liking that post.
Nottingham Forest need more in Premier League run-in
Football Insider Verdict
That point for Nottingham Forest against Crystal Palace means they have now won just one of their last five Premier League games.
It is a run which has seen them slip out of the top five spots needed to qualify for the Champions League, with three games of the season to go.
With matches against Leicester, West Ham and Chelsea to come, Nuno’s side may still feel they have a chance to claim a spot in Europe’s top competition next season.
Gibbs-White is one player with the quality to help Nottingham Forest do that, and if they do complete that achievement, it will make it easier for them to keep hold of the 25-year-old as well.
