Jacob Ramsey tipped for £50m Aston Villa move after Emery decision – expert
Jacob Ramsey has been tipped for a £50million exit from Aston Villa as Unai Emery is set to make a decision about summer sales.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Villa full-back Alan Hutton labelled Ramsey, 23, as the most sellable asset, with the money raised from his exit to be put towards balancing the books.
Emery and Monchi will assess their squad before deciding which players need to be sold, with a left-back and a centre-back also tipped to leave Villa Park this summer.
Given the financial issues Villa are facing, a big sale will be needed to avoid a breach of profit and sustainability rules, with the club desperate to avoid a possible points deduction.
Jacob Ramsey tipped to leave Aston Villa in £50m deal
Football Insider revealed on 21 May that Ramsey is the most likely player to be sold this summer, with his homegrown status allowing the club to make pure profit on his exit.
Hutton explained that he would not be happy to see the midfielder leave, but a £50million deal would suit the club perfectly.
“There are a couple of fringe players they could look to move on,” he told Football Insider.
“The big one is Jacob Ramsey. I don’t want to see him go, but in terms of value and balancing the books, if you get £50million for him, that’s all profit.
“Then you can move other things about and make space elsewhere.
“He’s probably the one who’s got the biggest value.
“Yes, there are some fringe players. What are they going to do at left-back? There are a couple of boys at centre-back that could move on.

“Emery and Monchi will be going through the squad, seeing where they want to upgrade and where they can afford to get rid of one or two.”
