Jadon Sancho’s next club emerges as Man United exit looms: ‘High possibility’
Jadon Sancho is set to leave Manchester United this summer, but the winger may already have his new club lined up.
The 25-year-old made the move to the Red Devils back in 2021, but things haven’t worked out for him at Old Trafford, and he has spent the last 18 months out on loan.
Chelsea decided not to keep Sancho, after the former England international spent the campaign at Stamford Bridge, scoring three goals and picking up four assists in the Premier League.
Enzo Maresca’s side were forced to pay Man United £5million to send the attacker back as a result of a clause in the loan deal, opting to stomach the fee rather than keep Sancho permanently.

Sancho set for move
Despite his imminent return to Old Trafford, Man United are expected to sell Sancho this summer, along with four other big names.
As well as the Manchester City academy graduate, Marcus Rashford, Andre Onana, Casemiro, and Antony are all set to depart, as the Red Devils look to improve their PSR situation.
Speaking live on air, talkSPORT (4 June) Chief Football Correspondent Alex Crook revealed that Sancho could be returning to Borussia Dortmund this summer, saying: “I can see him back at Dortmund, I think that looks a high possibility.
“I’m told there isn’t a way back for him at United. He’s one of a number of players that Ruben Amorim wants to cash in on this summer.
“I think he’s one of those players who, to me, just doesn’t necessarily look like he’s going to play his best football in the Premier League. He’s suited to the Bundesliga, and he’s got a home in Dortmund.”

Gittens move could open door for Sancho return
Football Insider Verdict
After a move from Manchester City as a 17-year-old, Sancho spent four very successful seasons at Dortmund, scoring 38 goals in 104 Bundesliga games.
Season | Games | Goals | Assists |
2017/18 | 12 | 1 | 4 |
2018/19 | 34 | 12 | 14 |
2019/20 | 32 | 17 | 16 |
2020/21 | 26 | 8 | 11 |
The winger returned to the German club in January 2024, on loan from Man United, starting in Dortmund’s Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.
Now, it seems like the door could be open for a third stint, with Jamie Gittens rumoured to be heading to Chelsea.
Gittens spent the majority of the 2024/25 campaign starting in the left-winger role for Dortmund, and if his move to Stamford Bridge is confirmed, then the position will need to be filled.
Sancho looks to be the perfect fit, and with the Englishman’s previous history at the Signal Iduna Park, Niko Kovac will have no concerns about his ability to perform in the Bundesliga.
If the 25-year-old does make the switch to Germany, it will be a chance to get his career back on track, and begin realising his potential.
