James Maddison and Dom Solanke react to Djed Spence’s ‘big’ Tottenham message
Djed Spence had a motivated message for Tottenham fans after the side’s spirited comeback against Bournemouth.
Tottenham recovered from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 9 March, salvaging a crucial point for Ange Postecoglou.
Milos Kerkez delivered a stunning pinpoint assist to set up Marcus Tavernier’s opener, a moment that caught the attention of Liverpool fans amid transfer speculation surrounding the Bournemouth full-back. Evanilson then doubled the visitors’ lead, leaving Spurs with an uphill battle.
However, Pape Matar Sarr sparked hope in the 67th minute with a looping shot that found the net, piling pressure on Bournemouth. The comeback was completed late on when Heung-Min Son converted a penalty, ensuring Tottenham avoided a damaging defeat.
Despite rescuing a point, Tottenham fans were left frustrated with players such as Pedro Porro, by the poor defensive display. Djed Spence, who played the full 90 minutes at left-back, shared an honest verdict with the supporters following the match.

Djed Spence delivers honest message to Tottenham fans ahead of crucial Europa League clash
The Englishman took to Instagram following Tottenham’s comeback draw, saying: “Not the result we wanted today, but big week ahead going into Thursday. Let’s push & stick together” followed by a white heart emoji.
His teammates, including James Maddison, Kevin Danso, and Dominic Solanke, showed their support by liking the post.
Maddison came off the bench in the 61st minute, while Solanke started despite concerns over an injury he picked up against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League.
Meanwhile, Spence has impressed Tottenham fans in recent months, working his way back into Ange Postecoglou’s plans and becoming a fan favourite.
After not starting a single Premier League game until December, the 24-year-old has since made 22 appearances across all competitions, scoring twice and providing two assists in just 1,500 minutes of football.
Djed Spence wins over Ange Postecoglou as Tottenham chase silverware

Spence’s future at Tottenham looked uncertain at various points this season, especially after being left out of the club’s Europa League squad for the first phase of the tournament.
Following disappointing loan spells at Leeds and Genoa, he seemed destined for the exit, but his resurgence this season has been remarkable, with his versatility proving crucial for Spurs.
With Porro struggling defensively at right-back and Destiny Udogie battling persistent injury issues, Spence has a real opportunity to cement his place in the starting XI.
But for now, all focus is on the Europa League second leg against AZ Alkmaar, where Spurs need to overturn a one-goal deficit to keep their European hopes alive.
