James Maddison and Solanke react to Van de Ven’s message as he arrives at new destination
James Maddison and Dominic Solanke joined Tottenham teammates in responding to Micky van de Ven’s latest message as the international break gets underway.

Now, as international duties begin, the 24-year-old shared a new post showing him arriving at international camp with teammates showing their support for the defender as he turns the page from club to country.

Van de Ven joins Netherlands squad as international break begins
With the club season wrapped up, international duty has now started, and Van de Ven has arrived with the Netherlands squad ahead of their World Cup qualifiers against Finland and Malta.
The Tottenham defender shared a short message on Instagram to mark his arrival, writing: “It’s been a while.”
His post drew plenty of reactions from teammates, with Maddison, Solanke, and Djed Spence among those showing their support. Fellow Dutch players Jurrien Timber, Matthijs de Ligt and Liverpool’s new signing Jeremie Frimpong also liked the post.
The Spurs defender could eventually link up with Frimpong at club level too, with Football Insider previously reporting back in February that Liverpool are “very keen” on bringing Van de Ven in to partner Virgil van Dijk at Anfield.
Despite an injury-hit season, the 24-year-old has maintained a high reputation, and it remains to be seen whether Spurs would consider letting him leave.
Tottenham prepare for Atletico Madrid approach for Romero
While Van de Ven continues to attract attention, his centre-back partner Cristian Romero is also the subject of transfer interest.
Football Insider revealed that Atletico Madrid remain keen on Romero, and Tottenham’s qualification for the Champions League hasn’t deterred the Spanish side’s interest.
It’s unlikely Spurs would allow both players to leave in the same window, but should a significant offer arrive for either, the club may be forced into a decision.
