James Maddison sends heartfelt message to Pedro Porro after Tottenham masterclass

Pedro Porro had a upbeat message for the Tottenham fans after playing a crucial role in helping his side reach the Europa League final.

Tottenham secured their place in the final with a composed 2-0 win over Bodo/Glimt on 8 May, sealing a 5-1 aggregate victory across both legs.

Ange Postecoglou’s team carried a 3-1 lead from the first leg, but with pressure mounting, the players knew they had to remain focused to finish the job.

Dominic Solanke broke the deadlock just after the hour mark, reacting quickest to Cristian Romero’s header to slot home.

Shortly after, Porro delivered the decisive moment for Tottenham, with his cross curling beyond everyone, clipping the inside of the post and nestling into the net.

The goal effectively booked Spurs’ spot in the final, where they will meet Manchester United in an all-English showdown and the Spanish right-back had a message for the supporters following his goal.

Pedro Porro proves Tottenham critics wrong after Europa League win

After scoring a crucial goal in the semi-final, Porro dedicated his celebration to teammate James Maddison, who is sidelined for the rest of the season, by copying the midfielder’s signature darts pose.

He later posted on Instagram, sharing a message with supporters: “Got the job done together. We’ll see you in Bilbao… VAMOSSSSS !!!”

Maddison replied in the comments with “Love you brother”,while Djed Spence added a light-hearted message, calling the goal a “Rocket”.

Despite the upbeat atmosphere in the dressing room, Porro has faced criticism from some sections of the Tottenham fanbase this season regarding his consistency.

His future at the club is also unclear, with Football Insider revealing that Man City have shown interest in Porro, although they may look at alternative options depending on the asking price.

Still, he has kept the faith of Postecoglou, racking up 48 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing nine assists in 3,892 minutes.

Ange Postecoglou under sack pressure despite European success

While Spurs have impressed in Europe, Postecoglou remains under pressure due to their poor domestic form, with the club currently languishing 16th in the Premier League.

Several names have already been linked with the job, including Andoni Iraola, Thomas Frank, and Marco Silva.

However, should the Australian deliver Tottenham their first piece of silverware since 2008, it could be enough to silence the doubts and end the season on a high.
