Jamie Redknapp: This is what Liverpool are missing

Jamie Redknapp believes Liverpool will suffer without Sadio Mane while the flying winger represents Senegal at the African Cup of Nations.
The 24-year-old has missed the last two games for Liverpool after flying to Gabon, which has seen the Reds draw to League Two side Plymouth and lose 1-0 to Southampton in the EFL Cup.
Speaking after the first leg of the EFL Cup semi final on Sky Sports, Redknapp believes Liverpool are much more dangerous with their £35million summer signing in the side.
“Liverpool fans’ fears were missing Mane, and it was so evident tonight,” Redknapp said. “You could see it, they’re a totally different proposition when you play against them.
“He gives a completely different dimension, tonight was a lot of what I saw of Liverpool last season, Mane has changed that. Mane is the one, and he’s the one that worries me the most.”

Liverpool lost the cup tie on Wednesday to Claude Puel’s Saints after England Under-21’s international Nathan Redmond struck a first-half winner.
The likes of Daniel Sturridge, Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana were unable to change their side’s fortunes, as they lost the first leg in the absence of Mane.
The former RedBull Salzburg ace, who was brought to Anfield this summer from the Saints, could miss another six games with the African Cup of Nations final taking place on February 5.
Depending on how well Senegal do at the tournament, Mane could miss games against the likes of Chelsea, Southampton and Hull as well as Sunday’s clash against Man United.
Since his move to the Merseyside giants, Mane has been in magnificent form. Having a hand in 16 goals for the Reds, the Reds’ number 19 has scored nine and produced seven assists.
In other Liverpool news, fans have reacted to Loris Karius’ display against the Saints.
