Redknapp: Liverpool star who is 'one of the best' needs to leave Anfield in January
Former Liverpool sensation Jamie Redknapp believes that Daniel Sturridge will find success at his next club if he left on loan, should he stay fit.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Redknapp stated that Sturridge would be integral to Gareth Southgate’s England team in Russia, if he was to find his form and fitness,
“It’s a fascinating one. But if he’s fit and firing he’s a certainty for the England squad.
“Whoever gets him, if you get a fit Daniel Sturridge, you’ve got one of the best strikers in Europe.”
Sturridge has an impressive goals to game ratio for the Reds, scoring 48 in his 98 Premier League appearances, yet injuries have forced the England international out of Klopp’s long-term plans.
Inter Milan is a team who has been heavily linked with the 28-year-old, and Redknapp believes that some time abroad could suit Sturridge,
“He’d be a great signing for Sevilla or Inter Milan if they can keep him fit. They will be like ‘I knew he was good but I didn’t know he was this good’ if he can avoid injury.”
Sturridge has featured heavily for England in the last two major tournaments, even scoring the winner as England beat Wales in the group stages of France 2016.
The Liverpool forward has 26 caps for England, if he is to gain any more he will have to prove his durability by earning consistent first team duties.
In other Liverpool news, the Reds have contacted this Spanish team over the transfer of a two time Champions League winner.
