Jansson delivers verdict on two Leeds signings, states he has taken one under his wing
By Derek Smithson
Leeds favourite Pontus Jansson has hailed the work of the club in the transfer window and given a special mention to duo Ezgjan Alioski and Matthew Pennington.
Thomas Christiansen has been keen to bolster his squad in the summer as he looks set to mount a promotion bid in the Championship.
Tricky winger Alioski has arrived at Elland Road on a four-year deal and has already impressed fans in pre-season.
Meanwhile, the Whites landed 22-year-old centre-back Matthew Pennington from Everton on a season-long loan to help improve their backline.
Jansson has spoken highly of the two arrivals and revealed that he has taken 25-year-old Alioski under his wing due to his Italian language barrier.

“Alioski is good, I like him,” Jansson told LUTV. “He talks Italian so I take him under my wing and help him into the team.”
Jansson added: “He [Pennington] is good, I haven’t seen him so much before. He was good against Borussia Monchengladbach and I think he is going to be good for us.”
Alisoki will be aiming to cement a starting position at Leeds and usually operates on the right wing.
The Macedonia international faces tough competition for a spot and will be competing alongside teammates Hadi Sacko, Stuart Dallas, Kemar Roofe and Souleymane Doukara.
His form for Swiss top-flight club FC Lugano suggests he will be a major success in Yorkshire, scoring 17 goals and supplying 14 assists in 36 games.
Meanwhile, Jansson could also form a good relationship with Pennington as the duo could be the first-choice centre-back combination in the new season.
