Jarrad Branthwaite is top of Man United shortlist amid ‘£100m’ reveal – sources
Man United rank Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite as their top centre-back target this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Defensive reinforcements are a priority for the Red Devils with the future of Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire in question.
It is understood that United are monitoring Nice’s Jean-Claire Todibo and Juventus’ Gleison Bremer but Branthwaite is at the top of their shopping list.
Erik ten Hag is eager to add a left-sided centre-back to his squad and Branthwaite has starred in that role for the Toffees this season.
Everton star Branthwaite is top priority for Man United
The 21-year-old has been a standout performer in Sean Dyche’s side having formed a formidable partnership with James Tarkowski in the heart of defence.
Only Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal have conceded more goals than Everton in the Premier League this season and Branthwaite has only missed three league fixtures for the Blues in 2023-24.
Football Insider was told by former Everton CEO Keith Wyness that the Toffees will value Branthwaite at around £100million this summer amid interest from Man United.

Todibo, 24, and Bremer, 26, are also options for United as they look to bolster their backline and Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s ownership of Nice could help United pursue a deal for the former.
It is understood that Todibo has been a long-term target for United with Premier League rivals Tottenham also interested in his signature.
