Jarrod Bowen and Edson Alvarez react excitedly after transfer completed
West Ham players including Jarrod Bowen and Edson Alvarez reacted on social media in response to a transfer for a former teammate was confirmed.
West Ham endured a disappointing campaign last season, finishing 14th in the Premier League with just 43 points accumulated.
The club are expected to be active in the transfer market this summer under new management, but so far, there’s been little movement when it comes to incomings, with plenty of outgoings instead.
Football Insider revealed back in April that as many as 10 senior players were expected to depart West Ham during the window—and several have already confirmed their exits.
One of those is Aaron Cresswell, who brought an end to his 11-year spell at West Ham earlier this summer.
The left-back’s next move has now been confirmed, prompting an outpouring of support from former teammates.

Aaron Cresswell confirms Stoke City move after West Ham exit
After parting ways with West Ham, Cresswell has now confirmed his next move, as he has joined Stoke City on a one-year deal.
The veteran full-back announced the transfer on Instagram, sharing a photo in his new kit alongside the caption: “Delighted to be here! Looking forward to meeting up with the lads in Spain tomorrow. Motivated for a strong season ahead – see you soon, Potters.”
His post was met with support from several former teammates, with Arsenal’s Declan Rice commenting “What a guy” while Pablo Fornals responded with a salute emoji.
Current West Ham stars also showed their appreciation, with Bowen, Alvarez and Niclas Fullkrug all liking the post.
Cresswell, now 35, joined West Ham back in 2014 and went on to make 367 appearances for the club, becoming a key figure in defence over more than a decade.
However, his role had diminished in recent seasons, making just 16 appearances in the most recent campaign.

West Ham open talks over Joe Gomez deal
With a number of senior players departing this summer, the Hammers are expected to be busy in the transfer market—and defensive reinforcements are a clear priority for Potter.
Former club scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that West Ham have entered the race to sign Liverpool defender Joe Gomez.
Brown added that Gomez would be open to the move to West Ham, with the 28-year-old keen to secure regular first-team football after limited minutes at Anfield.
However, a move could depend on Liverpool’s own defensive situation. With Jarell Quansah leaving and uncertainty surrounding Ibrahima Konate’s future, West Ham may need to wait for the Reds to secure a replacement before progressing talks.
