Jarrod Bowen licking his lips after what Arne Slot said ahead of Liverpool vs West Ham

Jarrod Bowen will be hoping to make a key difference during West Ham’s Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

West Ham have not beaten the Reds in the last 10 meetings, losing the last five with an aggregate score of 16-4, and supporters are not confident ahead of Saturday, 28 February.

With 11 games of the Premier League season remaining, Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side are two points from safety, making up the relegation zone alongside Burnley and Wolves.

An unlikely victory on Merseyside would give the East London side an incredible boost, especially should Nottingham Forest slip up to Brighton, and Bowen is likely to play a crucial role.

Jarrod Bowen can turn Milos Kerkez inside out vs Liverpool

Although Bowen has not been at his best this season, with rumours circulating around his departure ahead of the summer, he still has eight goals and four assists to his name across all competitions.

He has been totally outshone by Crysencio Summerville in recent weeks, but as West Ham captain, if the winger is going to step up, this is the perfect time to do so.

The Liverpool squad is not without its weaknesses, that’s for sure. And while Milos Kerkez has come on leaps and bounds this season, he is still not the finished product at Anfield.

Against Forest, despite a decent display, the left-back was hooked for the final 10 minutes, replaced by Andy Robertson, and Slot’s recent comments will do nothing to fill him with confidence.

Arne Slot does little to fill Liverpool star with confidence

In his press conference, Slot was quizzed about Kerkez’s display, saying, “If I can make changes in every position, I will do so. Milos played an OK game, and he is available for tomorrow.”

Describing his performance as “OK” is not what the Hungarian international would have liked to hear, but it is everything that should push Bowen to cause absolute havoc down the right flank.

The Reds have lost just one of their last six games across all competitions, so if the Hammers are to pull off the impossible, Bowen needs to be at his absolute best on Merseyside.

Kerkez is often seen as the weak link within the squad, and the Hammers can target that this weekend.
