Jhon Duran left out of Fenerbahce squad as agreement imminent amid Tottenham interest

Jhon Duran appears destined to change clubs on deadline day amid last-minute interest from Tottenham.

The former Aston Villa striker has spent the first half of the season on loan at Fenerbahce from Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, but a late winter move now appears to be in the pipeline for him.

Tottenham could potentially lose Randal Kolo Muani on deadline day, and as a result, they have been keen to try and another striker to their group before the 7pm cut-off on Monday evening.

Duran has been identified as a potential option for Thomas Frank and Co., and it now looks increasingly likely that he will be on the move again before the window slams shut.

Jhon Duran on the verge of agreeing to terminate Fenerbahce loan

Duran’s agents offered him to Tottenham in the early stages of deadline, with his entourage also contacting Crystal Palace and Leeds United over the possibility of a deal.

The trio of Premier League strugglers have all been keen to bolster their ranks at the top of the pitch of late, and now have the chance to sign the Colombian in the final stages of the window.

Fenerbahce are due to face Kocaelispor at 5pm (GMT) on Monday night in a crucial game at the top of the Turkish Super Lig, and Duran has already been withdrawn from the matchday squad, according to journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu via his X account.

The 22-year-old is set to reach an agreement to terminate his loan spell with Fenerbahce early, and preparations are already underway for the loan contract to be cancelled.

That plays perfectly into the hands of Tottenham, who are still viewing Duran as a “possibility,” according to Miguel Delaney.

Tottenham set to lose defender on deadline day

Tottenham are set to lose defender Alfie Dorrington on deadline day, with the youngster potentially poised to head out on loan to Salford City.

Karl Robinson’s side are pushing to secure automatic promotion in League Two, and they currently sit seven points behind leaders Bromley with a game in hand.

Dorrington spent the first half of the season in Scotland with Aberdeen after an impressive stint with the Dons last term, but the centre-back now appears set for a new challenge.

The 20-year-old has never been out on loan in the EFL before, and that could be about to change in the coming hours if Salford and Spurs can get the deal done.
