Jim Bett: Reported Rangers target would succeed at Ibrox
By Derek Smithson
Jim Bett believes that Rangers’ reported transfer target Ryan Jack would be a success if he completes a move to Ibrox.
The Scottish Sun claim that the Gers are trying to sign the 25-year-old Aberdeen ace and that the deal is expected to be confirmed imminently.
The central midfielder is out of contract in the summer and the Aberdeen captain looks like finally moving on from his boyhood club.
Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha is expected to undergo a huge overhaul of players in the summer and bolster his midfield options appears to be a priority.
They currently have the likes of Andy Halliday, Niko Kranjcar Jason Holt and Josh Windass in the centre of the park, while loanees Jon Toral and Emerson Hyndman are set to return to their parents clubs.

Bett feels that Jack would be a brilliant addition to the Gers and has backed him to make a positive impact.
“He [Ryan] is the man who does the link-up play between the defence and the strikers,” Beat told the Herald. ”It is a role he performs very well.
“He is playing well at the minute and has finished another good season on a high by helping Aberdeen finish second and reach two cup finals. There has been a lot of talk about him joining Rangers and I can understand why given how influential he has been for Aberdeen in recent months.”
He added: “Whether he goes to Rangers or not remains to be seen, but if that was to happen then I would expect him to do well.”
Jack has made 250 appearances for the Dons since breaking into their first team and has a wealth of experience in the Scottish top flight.
He is recognised for being a controlling figure in the midfield and is extremely comfortable in possession,
In other Rangers transfer news, they have stepped up their bid to sign Graham Dorrans.
