Jimmy Bullard sends message to Piers Morgan that destroys Arsenal senior man

By Matt Farr

Former Premier League midfielder Jimmy Bullard has criticised Arsene Wenger on Twitter following Arsenal’s 3-1 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.

The Gunners produced a poor display in their Premier League encounter, which saw Arsene Wenger’s side throw away their faint remaining title hopes.

Wenger is out of contract at the end of the season, and has shown little in recent seasons – particularly in terms of silverware – to suggest he deserves a new deal, and many fans have once again called for him to leave the club.

Piers Morgan remains a chief supporter of the ‘Wenger-Out’ brigade on Twitter, and Jimmy Bullard opted to side with Morgan over his anti-Wenger stance.

The former Hull and Wigan midfielder took to his personal Twitter account to compare Wenger to an ageing chess-master, in a message directed towards Morgan.

Since Arsenal’s Premier League title triumph in the 2003-04 season, the north London club have somewhat fallen from the limelight.

Victories in the 2013-14 and 2014-15 FA Cups remain their most notable triumphs since, but they have largely failed to challenge at the very top for quite some time.

However, their severe lack of silverware has seen a number of their key players quit the club in recent seasons, and they face a similar exodus in the summer should they fail to finish on a high.

Wenger has been a tremendous servant to the Arsenal cause for more than 20 years, but the time may well have come for he and the club to go their separate ways.
