Jobe Bellingham reacts to Sunderland transfer announcement

Jobe Bellingham reacted to a transfer announcement from Sunderland on social media as a move to Borussia Dortmund inches closer.

The younger brother of Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham is quickly becoming a sensation in his own right.

Bellingham was instrumental in Sunderland beating Sheffield United in the playoff final, thus securing the Black Cats’ return to the Premier League after an eight-year absence.

The 19-year-old consistently shut down the Championship Player of the Season, Gustavo Hamer, nullifying the Blades’ build-up play in a game worth an estimated £200million [BBC Sport].

Thanks to the midfielder’s fine form in a red and white shirt, Bellingham is attracting interest from Borussia Dortmund.

The move would allow the midfielder to follow in his brother’s footsteps, and The Athletic have reported the German side are increasingly confident they will be able to sign the 19-year-old ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Sunderland announce signing of Enzo Le Fee from Roma

Meanwhile the Black Cats are making moves in the other direction after securing promotion, with Enzo Le Fee making his loan move from Roma permanent.

Following their return to England’s top-flight, Sunderland shared a photo of the French midfielder on Instagram, captioned: “We are delighted to confirm the permanent signing of Enzo Le Fée!

“The 25-year-old joins from AS Roma for an undisclosed fee, penning a four-year deal on Wearside”.

The post was liked by Bellingham, showing his support for the talented Frenchman.

Sunderland must work hard to keep stars amid interest from European giants

Football Insider Verdict

Le Fee is a good start to Sunderland’s summer business, but if the club are to have any hope of remaining in the Premier League, they must keep hold of some of the players that got them there.

Chris Rigg has been linked with a move to Everton, and whilst the attacking midfielder is still just a teenager, he is the sort of difference-maker that the Black Cats need.

If Bellingham is to leave, which seems increasingly likely, finding a quick solution is crucial so they can have as much time as possible to bed in with their new teammates.

Then comes the issue of age. The Black Cats had the youngest squad in the Championship, and that lack of experience will haunt them in the Premier League.

Jordan Henderson has been linked with a return to Sunderland, but they will have to sign several more experienced players this summer.
